I was in the middle of a real estate transaction with George when he told me, “By the way, I need to get your seller’s permission for this thing we’re doing with a real estate television show.”
“What show are you doing?” I asked. I liked the home makeover shows a lot, but I couldn’t imagine these new buyers were going to knock down walls or redo bathrooms. I’ve had a lot of listings over the years that could have benefited greatly from a makeover, but this particular listing was spotless. Maybe they’ll do an outdoor space, I thought. I love a good hardscape.
“It’s that one where the buyers see a bunch of different types of houses and then they have to choose one to buy.”
“What’s the permission for?” I asked.
“We’ve made an appointment to see the house on Friday and we’re bringing the film crew with us,” he said.
“But we’ve already accepted your offer on the house and you’ve gone through inspections. It’s pretty much a done deal. Are they going to back out?” I was panicking a little.
