End of the Year Wrap-Up
Byeeee 2022
I’ve been seeing a lot of different types of End of the Year Wrap-Ups and I want to do one!
I’m in a bunch of groups for book lovers, and there are a ton of “All the Books I Read in 2022” and “Best Books I Read in 2022,” so I guess I’ll start there.
According to my Kindle app, I read 6 entire books and started 55. I have at least 5 physical books on my bedside table that have been “next” for most of the year. Damn. That was probably my worst year ever.
“Concentration” should be my word for 2023.
I didn’t have the brain space for reading, so I vegged out on TikTok.
According to my TikTok app, I spent an average of just over 1 hour a day on there. That’s really not as bad as I thought it would be! I do have a TikTok account for my job, so I’m going to classify at least half of that time as “work.”
I put almost 20,000 miles on my car this year since Adolpha got sick in February. We’re lucky that we live in a city with lots of specialists who could see her, but when you’re driving across the city several times a week, it still adds up. I can’t imagine if we lived far away.
Speaking of Adolpha and mileage on my car: when I’m not driving her to doctor appointments, I’m driving her to work. She’s had 4 jobs in 2022 and applied for a bunch more yesterday.
Three. That’s how many flat tires Gomer’s car had in 2022.
Gomer applied to several colleges and was accepted to all of them in 2022. Now, if he could just pick ONE.
According to my phone, I listened to 14 podcasts this year. Mostly murder or politics. I can’t remember any of them, though. See above re: brain power.
Amazon has let me know that our family (not just me!!) placed 156 orders on Amazon. If the Hubs is reading this, he should know that most of those were gifts for other people. He should also know that I have paid for ZERO ebooks all year because I always choose the delayed shipping option so I can get a digital credit. It’s like Amazon is paying me to shop there for ebooks I don’t have the brain capacity to read!
I had one book published in 2022.
I wrote 72 posts here on Substack since August.
I drank hundreds of cups of tea and not nearly enough water.
I ate 12 peanut butter cookies during the final week of 2022.
How does your wrap-up look?
I just love getting these emails. I hate most of the emails I get. It is so nice to love seeing one! Thank you.
Here's to 2023!
