I have been on a purging kick these last few months. I’ve been digging through closets and drawers that haven’t seen the light of day in over 20 years. I’m pulling out coats and boots that my kids wore in 2018. I’m finding bags of Christmas presents I bought 10 years ago, hid in my closet, and promptly forgot about. I’m finding totes with dresses with pockets I was going to take to get altered and never did. And I’m finding bags of stuff I meant to donate 4 years ago. Whoops.
I decided that I’d start selling a bunch of stuff on Facebook Marketplace and I discovered that my shit is a hit. I kind of ran out of purged stuff to sell, so I started looking around my house, and I was like, “I’m tired of that coffee table, let’s see if anyone wants it.” And, “No one uses these dishes, let’s get rid of them.” And, “We haven’t ridden bikes in years, someone will want these.”
I didn’t think it was a problem until Gomer came home a few weeks ago and asked, “Mom, where’s the coffee table from the living room?”
